Originally known as Croenendael or Croonendael. It was connected to the associated fort of Jonckholt via a lane. U-shaped building that is still partly moated and of which the 17th century core is still present. The former castle was converted in classicist style at the end of the 18th century. Later, a park was constructed in the English landscape style in which remains of the destroyed fortress of Jonckholt were incorporated.
