One of the pilgrimage sites on the Way of St. James is the former Holzzelle monastery. Only the two huge stone pillars stand alone on the green valley slope in the forest, the only remains of the monastery. Nothing is known about the founding of the Benedictine monastery. The first documented mention is from 1147.
