At 28 square kilometers, Lake Plön is the largest lake in Schleswig-Holstein and the tenth largest lake in Germany. The river Schwentine flows through it. This waterway connects it to the other lakes in the Holstein Lake District (the Kleiner and Großer Eutiner See, the Kellersee, the Kleiner Plöner See, the Diksee and the Ukleisee).

Excursion boats (5-lake trip) connect the towns of Plön, Malente-Gremsmühlen, Niederkleveez and Timmdorf.

If you are looking for a nice long tour in Schleswig-Holstein, we recommend a tour around Lake Plön. From April to October in particular, many cafes and restaurants invite you along the way. And if it is too long for you, you can always make parts of the circuit by ship.
