In the diverse underwater world, the lake with its distinctive vegetation provides a habitat for a wide variety of animal and fish species such as moray eels, eels, trout, perch, pike, zander, catfish, sturgeon and crustaceans. Many of them are adapted to the nutrient-poor conditions. The lack of nutrients ensures clear water, so that in places you can see the extensive underwater grass areas up to a depth of over five meters. The exotic plant life also includes various and sometimes very rare pondweeds and stoneworts.
