After 25 years, the sports field received an extensive renovation. Running track, long and high jump facilities, javelin, discus and hammer throw areas shine in new splendor.

On your marks, get set, go. The new “brick-red” tartan track on the Nordhäuser Hohekreuz sports field. As well as the nine-lane 100-meter sprint track. After the renovation in 2020, it will allow a start from both sides. There is a tailwind guarantee for the sprinters in future competitions. Comparable places with this quality feature are rare in Thuringia. There are probably only three more in Erfurt, Jena and Zeulenroda. The last time the Hohekreuz sports field was completely renovated in 1994. In the following years only minor repairs were carried out.
