The vicarage of the evangelical main church of St. Blasii stands like a gate to the old town at the entrance to Barfusserstraße. Decorated with decorations from the roof to the basement, it is one of the most beautiful and artistically valuable buildings in the cityscape.

The building was erected in 1713 as a rectangular two-story half-timbered building on the foundations of a house from 1544.

From 1706 to 1726 one of the most famous sons of the town of Nordhausen lived in the building - the pastor Johann Heinrich Kindervater.
