In May 2013, after eight years of construction, the flood retention at Neupotz, the Neupotzer Polder, was completed. For many years the citizens' initiative “No Polder Neupotz” had resisted flood retention in Wörth / Jockgrim. But in the meantime Neupotz, with its information center, is an example of citizen participation in flood protection as well as future-oriented and sustainable development behind the dikes.
