In 1902, on the 50th anniversary of the takeover of the Plauener Hofmühle by Gottlieb Traugott Bienert (1813-94), the Müller fountain with the inscription "Wandering is the miller's delight" was built here. It is reminiscent of the poet Wilhelm Müller and of the mills that characterize the place. The figure of the wandering miller's boy crowning the Art Nouveau fountain was dismantled and melted down in 1942 for armament purposes. In 1986 the fountain was restored and completed with a replica.
