Heute Morgen regnete es erstmal auf dem Bärenstein. Das Berghotel war super bequem und wir hatten ein tolles Frühstück. Aber irgendwann mussten wir uns einmal ordentlich anhosen und uns erneut auf die Räder schwingen.

It's really so much fun to be on the way with this crew.
The stage around the two highest mountains - Keilberg and Fichtelberg - is really strenuous. And yet we mastered it with determination and were in good spirits.
The start was in Abertamy and from there it's not far to the ascent of the Pleßberg

I actually wanted to do a longer round on the weekend, but due to the announced heat, I will probably refrain from doing so and so I did a nice round this evening after work. I don't think I've ever connected the Triebenberg and the Burgstädteler Linde on a tour before. 😅

So there was no way around it and I had to go out today... Two longer showers made me take shelter under some trees for half an hour each time. 😂 Otherwise, all the paths were unfortunately very wet and muddy

Durch die wunderschöne Wimbachklamm und weiter bis ca. 30 Min vor die Wimbachgrieshütte.

The Wimbachklamm costs €4 entrance per person and is quite short, but so beautiful that it is definitely worth it. 🤩
We extended this short section with the hike towards Wimbachgrieshütte. However, due to time constraints, we didn't go all the way to the hut and instead enjoyed a Kaiserschmarrn at Wimbachschloss

After yesterday's beautiful mountain tour, a quiet night in a shared dorm, and a - for an Alpine Club hut - very good breakfast 😋, today only the descent remained.
We combined this with a walk through the really beautiful "Zauberwald" (Magic Forest) and a pedal boat ride on the Hintersee. 😊
