Gunpowder was made in the powder mill. It was built in 1576, destroyed and rebuilt several times, until it finally lost its function in 1875. Until it was almost completely destroyed in 1945, the buildings were temporarily used as a grain grinding mill, but also for residential and business purposes. In 2002 the flood of the Weißeritz flooded the area.
