Bärenstein is one of the oldest settlements in the Eastern Ore Mountains. The castle was the seat of the noble family "von Bernstein". The market with its town houses is a listed building. There is also a beautiful post mile column from 1734 and the market fountain with a history column, which was inaugurated in 2006.
