Hiking
The Wijngaardbos, east of Vrijhern and south of Alt-Hoeselt, consists of a south-facing slope forest and a small-scale Haspengouws landscape with meadows, high-stem orchards, pollard willows, sunken roads, and the like. Until the early 19th century, there were vineyards on the slope where the forest is now located. At the bottom of the slope runs a stream, called the 's-Herenelderenbeek, which is one of the source streams of the Demer. On the slope, there are a number of springs that feed this stream.
