Hiking
The Wijngaardbos, east of Vrijhern and south of Alt-Hoeselt, consists of a south-facing slope forest and a small-scale Haspengouw landscape with meadows, high-stem orchards, pollard willows, sunken roads and the like. Until the beginning of the 19th century, there were vineyards on the slope where the forest is now located. At the bottom of the slope runs a small stream, called the 's-Herenelderenbeek, which is one of the source streams of the Demer. There are a number of sources in the slope that feed this stream.
