Foxes Tarn is tiny, not much more than a large puddle but it is one of the highest tarns on the Scafells. It lies at the bottom of a steep scree slope from Symonds Knott and at the top of Foxes Rake which leads down into upper Eskdale.
The route up or down via Foxes Tarn is one of the safest ways to or from Scafell from Scafell Pike.
