There's a funny anecdote about this elephant !!
This elephant was built by the Berlin artist August Gaul. Even if it doesn't look like it in the photos, this is an elephant fountain. It is on Havensteinstrasse in Colony III.

And Colony III is across from the Doktorsburg in Wiesdorf.

Sometime after Leverkusen was founded, i.e. after April 1, 1930, a high-ranking politician once stayed in the Doktorsburg and at that time the elephant was still looking into Colony III.

This in turn meant that another part of the elephant was facing the Doktorsburg.
