Comfort Spot Molenstede

REST BENCH
The first resting bench of the Landelijk Gilde Molenstede was placed in October 2017 along the Molenweg. The bench is in a quiet place under a tormented oak that still resists. Here you can chat, have a profound conversation, and give each other some encouragement. Moreover, you have a beautiful view of the winding stream with the church tower in the background and this in the company of quiet farm horses.CONSOLE
Following the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 and its health and moral consequences, this bank site forms an integral part of the Consolation Place, which Ferm Molenstede set up as a symbol of solidarity, hope and strength. This place was inaugurated on September 26, 2020.

COMFORTABLE PLACES
are an initiative of the women's movement Ferm, but you do not necessarily have to be a member of that organization to start an initiative. The initiative came because the pandemic weighs heavily on mental resilience and is sending a wave of grief and pain through the population. They are usually beautiful places in the green where people can find peace and hope. The spots are often characterized by a commemorative plaque, a poem and a bed of flower bulbs. They symbolize the resilience and resilience of people.
There are now more than 300 comfort spots in Flanders.
