The village of Prüßberg appears in the sources relatively late. Only in 1298 was a "monte dicto Brusteberg" (Latin mountain, called Brusteberg) mentioned. The name probably goes back to a vineyard and refers to medieval viticulture on the slopes of the Steigerwald. The village received a small branch chapel in the 16th century, which was decorated with an altar from the Riemenschneider area.
In the 19th century, a wealthy forester's wife had a contemporary altar made, the carpenter was allowed to remove the old altar and take it with him. Its whereabouts are unclear. Like the altar, the church itself fared later. It was torn down and from then on the Prüßbergers had to attend church services in the distant Dingolshausen. It was not until 1870 that the residents were allowed to bury their dead in nearby Michelau. In 1976 the village received a new church.
Prüßberg had been an independent municipality in the Kingdom of Bavaria since the 19th century, after its dissolution it remained part of the Gerolzhofen district.

In autumn it is the color of the leaves, in spring it is the meadow full of cowslips / sky keys that make this view a particularly remarkable place.

The autumn sun conjures up a special play of colors on Prüßberg and the vineyards
