St. Michael in Hildesheim, also known as Michaeliskirche, is an Ottonian, pre-Romanesque church. Until the Reformation, it was the abbey church of the Benedictine abbey of the same name. Together with Hildesheim Cathedral, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. On January 2, 2010 a jubilee stamp (EUR 2.20) with the motif of St. Michael was issued. A German 2-euro commemorative coin has been in circulation since February 7, 2014, the reverse of which shows the church.
