To commemorate seven buried quarry workers who lost their lives in the Becker hard stone works in Förtschendorf on March 21, 1963, owner Georg Carl had a memorial stone erected in 1988. Since this had become unusable due to the weather, the current owner of the quarry donated a new Grauwackenstein.

On March 21, 1963 at around 3:30 p.m. in the quarry of the Anna Becker hard stone works, around 35,000 cubic meters of rock broke loose at a width of 120 m and buried 7 workers, who could only be recovered dead. Water penetrating between a layer of clay and the rock was suspected to be the cause of the rockfall.
