The Lower Dender Valley, between Aalst, Lebbeke and Dendermonde, is a beautiful open natural landscape of 850 hectares. The Dender runs like a vein through the nature reserve, where beavers and herons feel very much at home.
Part of the Vossewegel route runs through this breeding area along the Dender.
The breeding area is only accessible to hikers.
In order not to disturb the fauna during the breeding season, you are asked to travel this route in stocking feet. Take a (figurative) look into the reed beds where the nests are built.
Enjoy the chattering, chattering and trumpeting of courtship birds.

The breeding and resting area is (currently or from now on?) not accessible, not even for hikers in stocking feet. On the Denderoever side the path is clearly closed; on the other side there is only a sign prohibiting access. To be respected.

A beauty of an area and very quiet. Hopefully everyone will continue to comply with the agreements
