Bernsteinfischer Fountain, Ribnitz-Damgarten

First, there is the amber fisherman with his net, which holds the "gold of the sea." Surrounding him are his wife, his daughter holding the amber she has found, his young son, and his son's dog. The women have taken off their shoes and placed them on the beach to protect them from the waves. The boy and the dog are meant to encourage the children to play in the fountain.The figures are arranged in such a way that there is no overlap from the orthogonal views.

The fountain "Amber Fisherman with Family" is located in Ribnitz city center on the market square, at the foot of the town church of St. Marien. The fountain figures were created by the artist Thomas Jastram from Rostock.

The fountain dates from 2007. At that time, the market square was completely redesigned.
