The Rostock Gate, built in 1430 on the bridge over the Ribnitzer Klosterbach, was formerly intended to protect the city from attacks from the west. Ribnitz was then under the rule of Rostock. Of the once five city gates only this has been preserved. It was already in 1290 at this point. The spagothic gate with its octagonal tower is a solid structure. On the upper floor, loopholes fall in the pointed-arched dazzling rows, as well as in the tower. They indicate the defensive function of the gate. The pyramid-shaped roof ends with an eight-sided pointed brick hood.

The Rostock Gate in Ribnitz is located in the Ribnitz district of the city of Ribnitz-Damgarten and is considered one of the oldest preserved city gates in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It served to secure the city of Ribnitz to the west and is located on the bridge over the Klostergraben.
