Troll Kamiel

When Kamiel wears his mask, he can talk to the animals.

They were seven good friends, both together and alone,
by the river in the valley in the forest, they had home,
they had seen the sun set and rise a million times,
the seven trolls were as tall as the pine trees.
Una and Joures were friends for life and liked to lie in the grass
watching the creeping sky while they told stories about the past.
Mikil was strong as a dragon and always on the move.
Kamiel wore a mask, a new one for every day.
Arvid liked to carve his dreams in old trees
Hannes to string pearls on a string so everyone could see them
and little Nora had only seen the sun rise a million times
she was still a growing troll with her tail and young mind
They could see beyond the forest to where the future was born.
They had seen civilizations crumble and new ones rise from the earth.
They had seen the mountains grow, turn to ice, melt and
burn. They had seen the fish turn into birds and the continents change.
And now they saw these little people with such great deeds
That they could break what was made forever and ever
And the trolls became afraid that life should never be borrowed
It was meant to be shared with tomorrow
So the seven trolls gathered on a mountain top
To find a new way The old way of now had to stop
And Kamiel spoke out - we must help them become better
The little people mean well, but they are too young to be smart
Let's build them a tower as high as a troll
And show them that all beings are one in their soul.
It took all winter for the summer to pass
And they invited all the little people to come.
And the little people walked to the top Where they opened their eyes
And saw beyond the forests The mountains and the sky,
They saw the future With tears in their eyes
What they saw no one knows, But the eyes never lie.
