"The Witten city park is not far from the city center. Part of today's park was originally the French baroque garden of the House of Witten, which was laid out around 1700. The orangery of the garden was located approximately in the area of today's Villa Lohmann, which mainly represented the served as winter quarters for numerous ornamental plants.The surrounding park has been owned by the city since 1956 and is now part of the Witten City Park.Important parts of the old, once famous plant population are still preserved.
