The Baggersee Böllertsee is located in the south of Duisburg and belongs to the recreation area Six-Lakes-Platte. The six lakes plate consists of the lakes Wambachsee, Masurensee, Böllertsee, Wolfssee, Wildförstersee and Haubachsee. This z.T. interconnected lakes have a total water area of approximately 158 ha.
The nature-based Baggerseengebiet is surrounded by extensive forests with numerous hiking trails. On the lake Böllertsee located in the southern part of the lake-plate there are protection and development measures for biotopes.
The lakes belonging to the northern area (Wambachsee and Masurensee) serve primarily for active leisure activities. Playgrounds, lawns, rowing, horse riding, outdoor swimming pool, sailing, canoeing, surfing, diving, fishing, boat rentals, barbecue and a model boat harbor offer a variety of recreational opportunities. An extensive network of hiking trails invites to long walks, jogging or cycling.
