Basilica di Santa Chiara ad Assisi

"Saint Clare is buried in the Basilica of Santa Chiara [Saint Clara]. The church, begun in 1257 and consecrated in 1265, is a single-nave building with a transept and is impressive due to its simple Gothic forms. In the right side chapel is the original of the crucifix, from which Francis heard the voice in San Damiano. The bones of Saint Clare are in a glass sarcophagus in the crypt."

The church of Santa Chiara is splendid with its decorated rose window and the Romanesque facade with these arches that seem to balance its shapes

In terms of observance, Clare should basically have the same meaning as Francis himself. The sisters were urged to move from San Damiano to the city and now have their seat at this church. But they took away the cross that was important to Francis and now hangs in the church. The crypt with the glass coffin of Clare looks much more modern than that of Francis.
