The architecturally interesting grave pyramid of the last two Capellan siblings, Frederike von Cornberg (+ 1776) and Adam Friedrich von Capellan (+ 1779) is located on the Kirchberg. Both died childless, so the castle and town fell to the Landgrave of Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld. The noble family of Capellan originally came from Upper Austria. The tomb is one of the most notable in Northern Hesse and has been designated as a Hessian cultural monument.
