Tips
The southern end of the historic North Beach city district, about two blocks deep on both side of Columbus St between Broadway and Lombard St, is still dominated by Italian restaurants, Italian cultural clubs, and specialty stores. On the third weekend of June the streets are closed to traffic for the North Beach Festival, one of the country's oldest outdoors festival since the 1950s.

Located in North Beach. Although there is no longer a beach there, the neighborhood is still called North Beach because there was actually a beach there before it was filled in in the 19th century. A great neighborhood and not to be missed.
