Hiking
The former French occupied part of Shanghai with lots of historic buildings in colonial style. Very interesting to observe how the style changes between the different quarters of this part of the city.

The highlights in this district are probably Tianzifang (a shopping maze of old stone gate houses, an authentic contrast to modern shopping malls and skyscrapers)), and Xintiandi (also stone gate houses, but restored and thus somewhat artificial).
