A bit off the Falkenfelsen with the well-visited Hertahütte, one has here on the Brockenfels good chances to enjoy the view alone. From the broad forest there is no sign to the rock, but the short path piece was easy to recognize.
Just follow the narrow path uphill, then a little to the left and between rocks. For the last meters on the viewpoint, there are a few steps carved into the stone.
The ascent is not a problem, if you are somewhat sure-footed, there is no immediate danger of falling.
Above no railing (if children are there) and no benches. But a few of the stones are great for sitting and taking a break or to watch the "unobstructed" sunset over the Rhine Valley. 3-4 people can easily find space, for larger hiking groups it should be a bit tight.
Fantastic view over the Rhine plain after a short climb up the forest path. The Brockenfelsen is part of a larger rock formation, which consists of Bühlertalgranit and stands out about 20 m from the area. He is designated as a natural monument and as a geotope. (Source: Wikipedia)
