This circuit is one of our favorites in the Vosges. The weather cooperated today and we started at Lac Noir and climbed to Altkrähenkopf. Up here the light is fantastic in the morning and we enjoyed the descent to Lac du Forlet. Over the Altenwasen we went up to the Vosges ridge and on to the Gazon du Faing. Wonderful views of the valley and beautiful corners are ideal for lingering. Between Lac Blanc and Lac Noir we took the descent and enjoyed the view of the Rocher Hans and, a little further, the Belmont viewpoint. Once again a great tour that we enjoyed to the full.

Today we didn't have any rain and the sun showed up every now and then. The morning temperature was just above zero and the tour started in Échery. The crisp rise at the beginning let the perceived temperature rise quickly. On the first 6 kilometers we had to leave 800 meters of altitude behind us. On the way to the Great Brézouard, we first passed the Haycot high pasture, from where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view. Unfortunately, the cattle had already finished the cattle drive. We continued up to the ridge over the two Brézouard, the Rehberg and the Hirzberg. We followed the old border path, which is not always included in the official route, but has the nicer impressions ready. In the last section, the altitude had to be destroyed again, which was partly done on forest roads but mostly on small trails. A nice but also demanding round.

On our second day in the Vosges, the Golden October was unfortunately not to be found. The weather was mostly gray in gray today and it also rained slightly towards the end of today's tour. The lap near Saint-Dié-des-Vosges definitely deserved some sun. Again we could experience many beautiful paths and many rock formations. The “Roche des Fées” is impressive with a magnificent view. A beautiful nature trail then leads to the “Roche du Chapeau” and on to the highest point of the round, you pass the “Roche des Cailloux” and the “Roche du Hoff”. On a clear day, the highest “Roche du Sapin Sec” is definitely the highlight. Down the valley you still pass old fortifications from the First World War and the “Roche du Chariot”. At the end of the hike, you can linger at the "La Cascade des Molières" waterfall. A nice and less known round.

From Le Bonhomme to the Tête des Faux via the Roche du Corbeau and Étang du Devin. Here you will encounter a lot of history on the round trip. The First World War left a lot of traces here and we discovered military cemeteries, bunkers, old trenches, bomb ridges and many old border fortifications. Sometimes you have the feeling that you can still feel this terrible time. The whole experience is embedded in natural forests, natural paths and old paved stone paths. Today's weather underlined the experience with cloudy skies and at the beginning and end of the tour with light rain.
