Tips

With a height of 1,748 meters, the Hochgern is an ingenious panoramic peak on the edge of the Chiemgau Alps. You can climb it on easy paths and let yourself be pampered on one of the alpine pastures as a reward.

The Chiemsee is almost at your feet on the summit of the Hochgern. When the weather is good, the view is fantastic - whether over the flat land or in the surrounding mountain ranges such as the Kaiser Mountains.

Great view. In one direction the mountains, in the other the Chiemsee.

Perfect view of the surrounding mountains. One of the most beautiful peaks in the Chiemgau Alps.

Hochgern with its two peaks. On one side a cross on the other a miniature church.

The way to the summit is definitely worth it. A little more comfortable from the Hochgern-Haus and those who like it strenuous can approach from the Staudacher-Alm. Anyway - a dreamy spot

The ascent from the Staudacheralm is steep and requires a lot of sure-footedness.

Great view, although usually a bit crowded but worth the climb. Especially the walk to the second summit with the miniature church!

From Hochgern you have a wonderful view of the Chiemsee. The path goes over small forest paths to just below the summit. The last part goes on a path.

With moderate exertion, you can reach the summit of the Hochgern with a view over the roofs of the Alps in the south via various paths.

To the south a view of the Chiemgau and of course the Chiemsee.
    Further north into the Alps.

A majestic view over the Chiemgauer Land and the Chiemsee. The world is at your feet. A real reward for a climb (without cable car)

The Hochgern is one of the most beautiful peaks in the Chiemgau Alps. The ascent there is not easy, as it is relatively long. The reward: an incredible 360-degree view.
