  • Perhaps the place “Börnecke” (= small fountain) owes its name to this spring.
According to legend, the healing water of the sulfur spring was used for healing purposes as early as the Neolithic period. Today you can find a pleasant place to rest while hiking on the flat northern slope of the Seeberg.
From the hiking trail following the footsteps of German emperors and kings, a staircase leads to the actual spring directly on the bank of the pond, currently also to the hiking stamp box until mid-April 2024. A truly mystical cult primal place!
Drink water from the sulfur-iron spring at your own risk...perhaps it will have a healing effect🧉
