The Regenstein fortress is a unique experience for young and old. Its location on the rocks allows visitors a fantastic all-round view. In the north, the Heers can be seen with its pine forest and in the south are the Harz foothills and the city of Blankenburg. The fortress itself is largely worked in the sandstone, which distinguishes it from many other castles. A multitude of caves are perfect for young and old explorers. One can combine the visit of the fortress with the Regensteinmühle and the sand caves in the Heers to a wonderful short hike.

If you were on the Regenstein, take some time to look behind the castle. There are sandstone woods and a beautiful sandy area! You feel like you are on a beach, only without water.

A party carved in the rocks. The wall with the gate looks very impressive. The first view of the castle is insanity. How much fun it is to explore the rooms, caves and corridors! In front of the gate is the stamp 80 of the Harzer hiking pin. On the premises there is a restaurant with panoramic views of the Heers. Please note opening times of the castle.

The path west of the castle towards the sandstone caves is closed. You have to go down from the castle to the parking lot and then take a bigger turn.

The ruins Regenstein with the lying at the foot of the rainstone sandstone caves is especially recommended for families with children at the time of the Knights Games. (Even adults have their fun). The view from the top is very beautiful and the rooms carved into the sandstone with the exhibits are interesting.

I do not like visiting ancient ruins, but the scenery is very beautiful. The facility in and around the ruin is very well maintained.

This robber-knight castle is partially built in the rocks. Around the castle there are beautiful hiking trails and highlights such as the sandstone caves.

Here you can see imposing rock formations combined with traces of human use. Definitely worth a visit. Part of the site can be visited for free. You can visit another part for little money. It's always worth it.
