This small, impressive quarry is located between the Liebethaler Grund and the electricity works in Lohmener Grund. At the edge of the path there are many larger stone blocks where you can have a picnic or observe a bit of the surroundings. Caution !!! As it is an active quarry, entry is prohibited. Every now and then there may be explosions.

I was not amazed. You walk comfortably in front of you and suddenly stand in front of an (open) barrier and right next to it reads the notes on blasting work. Just below, however, is clearly a marker for a trail to see, so Feuer Frei.:D The trail leads directly past the Lohmen quarry, where sandstone is still obtained today. Consequently, it should be avoided here on weekdays with dogs or small children to walk long, because every moment can be blown up. The warnings are clear, sounds the blast signal means take cover! The boundary of the quarry is lined with large blocks of sandstone, which should be enough for the surprised hiker to cover. ;) DANGER! The markings of the official trail are meanwhile a bit "hidden", DO NOT ENTER THE QUARRY! Here is danger to life!

Lohmen sandstone has been a popular material for a long time and is still actively mined today. Here you can experience stone breaking without much effort and right on the way.
