Best Hiking Routes to Teufelskammer
Tips
  • Here is a particularly rustic area of Saxon Switzerland: narrow gorges, rock gates, caves in a very small space.

  • The trail around the Teufelskammer is best hiked with small backpacks. This trail is located on Malerweg in Uttewalder Grund. Malerwegwanderer should take this highlight, it's worth it.

  • On the sides you can see fairy-like sculptures of lichens and ferns, shadows, dripping water and mosses, which absorb the moisture like sponges. It is a separate world that we can dive into on this hike; in seclusion and a little detached from reality.

  • Devil's room and devil's chasers, what can one say big there? An absolute gem among the goals and sections. You make your way through narrow ravines and under low hanging rockfalls. Even a small cave wants to (must) be crossed here. Klaustrophobie plagued are here at the wrong address, this is always and gladly ENG. :) Even if you can hardly believe it, in bad weather and appropriate clothing makes this section again more fun. : D At each corner, water trickles along the rock faces, and softened sandy ground demands acrobatics and surefootedness.

  • Adventurers and children who can live with dirtiness, get their money's worth here.

  • Beautiful natural path through a gorge landscape in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. In some places quite narrow and sometimes very muddy. As a nature lover, the variety of ferns, mosses and lichens on the cliffs and in the brook bottom is particularly inspiring. The small climbs inspire the adventurous and in the morning mist, the imagination for fables and legends from the old days is stimulated.

  • A little fun because you should definitely take it with you. A little muddy after the rain 😉. But makes the attraction.

  • A nice little circular path with steep stairs, rocks that you have to climb over and passages through which you have to crawl and the herring cave. A flashlight in your luggage can't do it!
The round is a highlight for children. This route is not feasible for strollers and for people who have difficulty walking!

  • It is advisable to have a flashlight with you. But the eye quickly gets used to the dim and groping is also possible

  • For those who do not want to squeeze through narrow passages I recommend the direct way through the devil's chamber. The Devil's Path also offers mystical moments and is equipped with ladders and well-paved paths.

  • Very nice little round that you shouldn't miss as a small detour on the Malerweg. However, it is recommended that you only have a small backpack to master the sometimes very narrow passages and passages. And you shouldn't be afraid of getting dirty under certain circumstances.

  • Great round tour through beautiful gorges and rock formations. The highlight are the small caves that you have to crawl through. A certain degree of surefootedness, sturdy shoes and fun climbing should be present.

  • In addition to the many insignificant highlights, the Teufelskammer in Saxon Switzerland is a real highlight. The Teufelsgrund with its branching gorges is one of the most species-rich valleys in the German low mountain range. Together with the herring cave, this wild and romantic area offers a lot of interesting things to discover. Children in particular will find it adventurous when boulders block their way, they have to walk through dark passages or there are iron stairs leading into the devil's chamber.

  • Especially when it has rained the day before and the streams are well filled with water, a particularly beautiful, almost mystical atmosphere arises in the narrow "gorges". Ferns, drops of water and puddles everywhere. Sure-footedness and the willingness to scramble over a rock or crawl under it should be present in order to have a nice experience here.

  • A nice destination for families with children, because you have to go through narrow passages and there are also some places where you can climb. The devil is said to have been sighted here one or the other time ;-)
