I have often included this section in my laps and I am always annoyed by the poor road surface, especially when driving up.
For the departure I join the previous speakers. Drive in the middle if possible! The surface here is significantly better.
If you want to, you can reach speeds of over 70+ km/h, with the wind blowing quite loudly. 😜
Be careful when entering Schloßborn. I recommend reducing the speed significantly here, especially since the specified speed limit of 50 km/h in town is reduced to 30 km/h. (But only for motor vehicles 😝).

I drove downhill last week! At almost 70 km / h it blows a lot around your ears. My tip is a light windbreaker and to drive a little more centrally on the road. On the far right I find the asphalt too bad at the high speeds! The cars have to be patient if they are behind you;)

Attention: In the spring / summer of 2019, the departure from Schloßborn to Ehlhalten is not passable due to construction work. So take this downhill here, who also has the legs for the Ruppertshainer mountain;) That is namely the only alternative to get from Schloßborn to Eppstein.
