Here on the Taunus ridge, right next to the Limes adventure trail and in the immediate vicinity of the Eichkopf (620 m), there are remains of the wall of the small Roman fort Heidenstock.
According to the information board, the fort was formerly surrounded by a 4 meter wide stone wall.
This massive defense is still clearly visible today as an earth wall in the area!
