Porphyry quarry at Gützer Berg near Landsberg:

As on the Kapellenberg in Landsberg, the "Landsberg rhyolite" of the Lower Halle porphyry complex is found here. The quarry has been inactive for many years, giving nature a richly structured refuge of dry slopes, steep rock faces and a large body of water in the former quarry basin.
The former mining walls offer a good opportunity to take a look at the coarse porphyry rock.

Many beautiful views can be enjoyed around both quarries. In the larger one can also be dived. The site of the local diving club is in the immediate vicinity of an old industrial ruin.

The lawn labyrinth, the so-called Schwedenring, is located directly on the Gützer Berg. This was created in the 1930s by the teacher and local historian Bernhard Brühl and his students. The name is associated with the presence of Swedish soldiers in the area and refers to a similar structure near Querfurt. In all probability, systems of this type go back to much older customs and traditions.
