Hiking

The term Kanalmeisterei is modern and does not come from the Romans. However, archaeologists suspect that a Roman crew responsible for maintaining the canal may have been stationed here. The uncovered foundations show what was considered necessary for the canal masters at that time: a small temple, a granary, stables and a farm building with several rooms. Canal master must have been a seen profession.
