This church is a minor basilica whose patron saint is Catherine of Alexandria. Nothing remains of the first wooden church from the 12th century.
The imposing building in front of you is neo-Gothic in style. One of the last reconstructions dates back to 1859.
Towards the end of the Second World War this sacred place was destroyed again, then rebuilt in the early 1980s, to be consecrated in 1986.

The Basilica of St. Catherine in Braniewo is an impressive Catholic church. It was built in the 14th century and expanded several times over the centuries.
During World War II, it was heavily damaged and remained a ruin for over 30 years. It was rebuilt in the 1980s.
