Totally fine on a road bike. 😘 However, if you are on skinny tyres it's worth considering the weather in the days leading up to your ride. (edit 2022) Some decent size holes are appearing on the section between Sandford and Yatton.

The Strawberry Line leads for 9 miles (14.5 km) through apple orchards and Somerset farmland. It traces the former railway Cheddar Valley railway, which once carried strawberries from the nearby fields.
The line has been closed since 1965 and now wildlife thrives along the former route. There's plenty of picnic benches and shade to stop for lunch.

The Strawberry Line, is a super nice, and very popular walking and cycling path that runs from Yatton to Cheddar, following the route of the former Cheddar Valley Railway line. While the full route is from Yatton to Cheddar, this section of it runs between Yatton and Winscombe. It is a relatively flat and gentle 12.5-mile route. Though off-road and gravelled, it is suitable for a road bike. There was six of us riding it as part of our LEJOG route, we all had road bikes with tires ranging from 25-32 mm, nobody had any issue with the trail.
