The watermill Oelsitz lies together with formerly about 30 mills on the Jahna. It is known from the baptismal books of the parish Weida near Riesa that the first oil mill Müller 1589 Balthasar Bennewitz was. Documents from the year 1721 prove that the mill belonged to the manor Jahnishausen.
