For hundreds of miles, the Black Bridge and the nearby Silver Bridge are the only chances to cross the Colorado River without a boat. Coming down the South Kaibab Trail, you will enter a rock tunnel which opens at the bridge.

The Boat Beach beneath the Black bridge is a great place to chill in the cool waters of the Colorado River. This is also a nice spot to watch the mules carrying tourists into the canyon to Phantom Ranch.

The Black Bridge spans the Colorado River in the inner canyon of Grand Canyon National Park. It is part of the South Kaibab Trail and is the river crossing used by mules going to Phantom Ranch. The Black Bridge and Silver Bridge are the only spans in hundreds of river miles.
