With an area of 316 hectares, the Urdenbacher Kämpe is the largest nature reserve in Düsseldorf. It is a typical piece of old Lower Rhine cultural landscape with pollarded willows, fruit trees and valuable wet meadows.

and I think the best thing is that people really do a lot here, that it gets back to what it used to be!

The trees just look mesmerizing... even a little spooky.

Unfortunately, it's not like a fairy tale. The trees are all largely dead, mistletoe and mushrooms grow in them. It hurts to see it like that.
