Benrath Palace

Graceful castle with its wings in a beautifully landscaped park with a French garden, English garden, kitchen garden and parterre garden. The castle park is very nice to hike through with surprising views of the castle again and again.

The exterior architecture of Benrath Palace, with the main building and cavalier wings, is in a representative Baroque style, with the wings on the reception side embracing half of the circular CASTLE HOSPITAL. As well as the elongated rectangular mirror pond on the garden side, it was designed to mirror the facades in the water. The entire water architecture is fed by the Itter.

We walk through the Benrather Schlosspark, an area that is already unknown or long-forgotten for me, while K. knows every tree personally.
An impressive area, especially the park with its generously designed clarity, its many impressive sculptures and works of art, is a gem on this quiet Monday morning that we "walk through", not without thinking about the many hard-working people who once really built all this have, but mostly remain unmentioned even in comprehensive descriptions.
