One of the three castles in Jagsthausen that still exists today is the so-called "Red Castle". It probably got its name from its striking reddish color scheme. The three-story main building has a mansard roof with gable-shaped skylights. A round stair tower is attached to the west side. It was built around 1590, probably as a successor to an older "nobleman's residence".

The Red Castle in Jagsthausen dates back to the 16th century and was built of red sandstone in the Renaissance style. It is located opposite Götzenburg Castle and is now partly privately used.

In Jagsthausen, in the immediate vicinity of the "Götzenburg", there is the Red Castle.

Today, it and the castle estate belong to a restaurant. Rooms can also be booked here in the outer bailey of the Götzenburg.

The Red Castle stands on the site of the former Roman fort of Jagsthausen and was built between 1572 and 1590 by a branch of the Lords of Berlichingen (Hans Reinhard von Berlichingen), as the coat of arms above the entrance door confirms. Inside, there are still wall paintings from the time when construction began. In the 18th century, a facade and a mansard roof were added facing the town. At the end of the 19th century, the castle housed both the seat of the Berliching tax office and the tax office manager's apartment.
