    To protect the old port against attacks by pirates and privateers, the construction of this fort was ordered.
    The Ministry of Defense donated cannons from the 18th and 19th centuries in 1992 to commemorate the existing cannons. There are four cannons: two iron with Portuguese emblems and two bronze with Dutch emblems.
    The guns came from ships sailing from the Netherlands.
