Bruch Schwebebahn Station (Wuppertal-Vohwinkel)

The station was rebuilt as part of the modernization after demolition of its predecessor. It forms a group with the stations Hammerstein and Sonnborn. Like their predecessors, they were planned according to a uniform design principle. The stops were built over the street between the rows of houses on the foundations of the old stations. The function determines the shape and material of the stop: steel for the supporting structure, glass for the outer skin and wood for the platform pavement. The new staircases, also built in the old place, were widened as much as possible and received elevators. Due to the difficult and very different real estate situations, each staircase had to be individually adapted to the local conditions.
