Very nice. The paths to the cliff are very rocky, so solid 🥾von Oderbruck from think you can run in a riverbed.

Partly rocky S2 trail that requires sturdy shoes and sure-footedness. Depending on the running direction, especially in winter, partially covered with ice sheets due to frozen moisture. If you come from Oderbrück, the goal, the Achtermannhöhe with its magnificent view of the mountains of the Upper Harz, especially Brocken and Wurmberg, is an absolute must for every visitor to the Harz Mountains / hikers.

demanding single trail to Achtermann cliff which requires a good slip resistance. On the Achtermann cliff you will be rewarded by a magnificent view. Below the cliff, a nice rest area with shelter invites you to linger.

Scenic route of the S2 route from Oderbrück from the billion trail branching off to the Achtermann height. In the opposite direction, going downhill in winter due to over-frozen wetness / ice plates is sometimes very slippery. Sturdy shoes and sure-footedness are advised. The Achtermannshöhe is an absolute must for every Harz hiker due to the magnificent distant view of the peaks of the Upper Harz, such as Brocken and Wurmberg.

    The Kaiserweg
runs in historical traces through the Harz. Originally, this was an early trade route across the Harz Mountains, which only received the name Kaiserweg after the flight of Emperor Heinrich IV in 1074.

Ascent to the Achtermannhöhe in beautiful nature. The path is sometimes very wet and slippery. Ice sheets form in winter. But with the necessary caution and good footwear, it can be done. The goal, the cliffs of Achtermannshöhe, are a must for every hiker with a wonderful view far above the Hochharz. See corresponding further highlights.

Sturdy shoes are required and can also get a little wet through rivulets.

When it is wet, the path is not without as it is over smooth stone slabs.

In winter it seems to be even more beautiful than in the other seasons. I just thought it was magical.

an original natural stony, steadily increasing route. It's fun to hike this path despite the rocky ground.
