A visit to the Oderteichs can only be recommended. It is located between Braunlage, St. Andreasberg and Claustal-Zellerfeld and is beautifully situated. In the summer you can also go swimming well. Hikers and mountain bikers can start from there beautiful and if necessary, extended tours, as parking is available.
The Oderteich is a historic dam. It was built from 1715 to 1722 by Andreasberger miners. Since 2010, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the Upper Harz Water Regiment with other buildings.

Wonderful hiking trails. Best in the week. We were on the weekend and had to queue for the first time for stamping.

Beautifully located stamp office of the HWN. Unfortunately, a nice seat and rest stop is missing. Nice to connect with a small tour around the great Oderteich.

    Nice place for a break.
The way across the fairy tale path is very muddy - watch out for matching shoes!

Beautiful path for less experienced hikers and families, the slope is low, and the board paths make walking in the rustic terrain easier.

The inflow to the Oderteich invites you to linger. Who likes can also take a cool foot bath 👍😉

Good parking, from which one can circle the Oderteich, are at the dam or the parking Oderbrück. The circumnavigation itself is about 4 km long.

This stamp spot "Sonnenkappe Oderteich" (HWN 217) can be found on the circular route of the Oderteich.
The Oderteich is also a good way to take a break.

Beautiful place for a break. Children can spend their free time here and there is also a stamp for the Harzer hiking pin.
When you come across the fairytale trail, be sure to come with sturdy shoes and especially with shoes that can get dirty, so the road is very muddy.

This is the fairy tale path between Torfhaus and Oderbrück. Very rewarding. Requires sure-footedness.

The Oderteich is often referred to as the oldest dam in Germany (completion 1722), but which is capable of interpretation. The reservoir is part of the UNESCO World Heritage "Upper Harz Water Regale".
